With her breast surgeon, this patient decided to have both of her breasts removed because of her breast cancer. She was referred for consultation for breast reconstruction. She decided to have tissue expander to silicone breast implant reconstruction with Dr. Marvin Spann, Las Vegas Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Because of the ptosis (or hang) of her breasts, Dr. Spann was able to place her incisions at the bottom of her breast, resulting in much smoother, natural appearing reconstructed breasts that avoid the usual incision that travels across the center of the breasts as can be seen with many breast reconstructions. She subsequently had nipple and areola reconstruction with full-thickness skin grafts. Her reconstructed breasts are very natural in appearance. Even unclothed, many people are not able to tell that she had mastectomies with breast reconstruction and nipple and areola reconstruction.
