Dysport is a simple, effective, nonsurgical treatment that works by relaxing facial muscles on the forehead, thereby reducing and smoothing away frown lines and wrinkles. Dysport, similar to BOTOX, is a cosmetic treatment product that is supported by over a decade of clinical experience. It safely and effectively treats a variety of conditions ranging from frown lines to axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating under the armpits). Many people find that, after several Dysport treatments, they don’t need another injections for a longer period time because they have “unlearned” the habit of frowning or squinting that originally led to the development of these lines. Las Vegas plastic surgeon, Dr. Marvin Spann, will discuss Dysport as well as the other injectable options that are available today.

"I can not say enough about both Dr. Marvin Spann and Dr. Candace Spann. Let's start with Dr. M., I met him 24 hours before my bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction surgery. I don't care for male Dr.'s, will go out of my way not to see them, but when cancers involved, you don't always have a choice. Honestly I'm grateful that he ended up on my side, months of visits, 2 surgeries and I got a beautiful pair of foobs. As far as him blowing off infections, haha I developed one and had more added appointments than I wanted. Now to Dr. C, I originally made an appointment to get my skin checked, and while there she pointed out 3 things, one of which was flared up thanks to one of my medications. I had been suffering for months, my skin and I thank her. Then I went back for Botox and filler, best choice I've made. My husband also sees Dr. C. He had a spot she didn't like, she cut it out and his back looks just fine. I always say there's a reason for everything, so for me cancer added 2 amazing doctors that actually care to my side, and in Vegas that's hard to find."- J.G. / Yelp / Feb 10, 2020
"Amazing doctors and great staff. Friendly and professional. Beautiful and clean office. The doctors take their time talking to you and answering your every concern. An amazing group of people overall."- P.V. / Yelp / Jan 28, 2020
Dysport is injected via a fine needle to specific areas on the face. Prior to the injection, these areas are marked, and a numbing anesthetic is applied. The amount of medicine injected varies by patient depending on their aesthetic goals. Some individuals will have deeper, broader wrinkles while others wish to target fines lines (which requires less product). Dysport is administered during an in-office appointment that typically lasts about 30 minutes.
What to Expect
There is no downtime after a Dysport injection. Some mild swelling and redness may occur at the injection sites, but the skin will return to a normal appearance a few hours after treatment. Ice packs are often compressed to the site immediately after treatment to help calm the skin and reduce these after effects. Patients are able to resume their normal activities during the same day as their treatment. Results will become apparent within a couple of short days.
The cost for a Dysport injection will vary depending on how many vials of the medicine are needed during the time of treatment. The cost of Dysport starts at $700.

Dysport or BOTOX?
Both Dysport and Botox are safe and effective to treat facial wrinkles and both are widely available. A skilled practitioner can tell which medication may offer the best benefit. The results of a Dysport injection typically become visible faster than BOTOX, last a bit longer and spreads to a larger coverage area.
Dysport or Filler?
Patients seeking to rejuvenate their facial appearance may look into injectable fillers, as well as products such as Dysport to attain results. Both skin treatments work to decrease facial wrinkles, but use varying approaches. Injectable fillers add volume to certain facial structures, which creates a smooth result on the surface. It is common today to combine products such as Dysport and BOTOX, with an injectable filler. This has been labeled a “liquid facelift” and provides outstanding results for individuals who do not want surgery.
How Often for Treatment?
Patients are usually ready for a follow-up visit within 3-4 months after treatment. This varies by patient.
